FACTA – The APINCO Foundation for Poultry Science and Technology was established in 1989 as a non-profit organization, with the mission of disseminating Science and Technology to the poultry sector. Numerous events, such as courses, seminars, and conferences were held during this period, which was attended by technicians and producers from Brazil and Latin America. In 1994, the presentation of research papers was introduced at the Annual Conference, with the awarding of the best ones with the so-called "Prof. José Lamas da Silva". Since 1999, FACTA has published the Brazilian Journal of Poultry Science, which is an important way for disseminating the research carried out in the country. Also, FACTA has already published several books related to poultry subjects, with emphasis on the last four: Birds Diseases, Incubation Management, Broiler Management and Water in Industrial Poultry.
